Gre(v)en(ts) UPDATE: North Country Department Store Happening This Weekend!

A couple of weeks ago I mentioned that Assemblywoman Addie Russell was organizing a “North Country Department Store” event to happen on November 5th. She calls it a “Rediscovering Your Backyard” event and the location has been chosen:

North Country Department Store

Saturday, November 5, 2011
Indian River Middle School
Off US Route 11, Philadelphia, NY

9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Inviting Local Businesses
Artisans, Farmers, Food Producers, Antique Dealers,
Shop Owners, Service Providers or Organizations

to create a one day DEPARTMENT STORE filled with
local products or services
~ just in time for the holiday shopping season ~

Housewares/Pottery/Glass                       Furniture/Fixtures
Home Décor/Wall Art/Sculpture             Home Improvement/Tools
Bath/Body                                                     Sports/Outdoor Recreation
Fashion/Textiles/Shoes                              Local and Specialty Foods
Jewelry/Handbags/Accessories                  Special Event Services
Children & Toys                                          Hospitality/Tourism
Performing Arts

The deadline for vendors to apply was October 28th, but I’ve been told by some insiders that there are still spots left (and that the $20 fee is a suggested donation). As usual, since the event is on a Saturday I can’t go, but I’m sure it will be a great showcase of what the North Country has to offer – so check it out if you can!
